Connect Claude to Forge

Add Forge to your own Claude and ask it about your work in plain words: "What did I promise Northwind?", "What's overdue this week?", "What did we decide in Tuesday's call with Acme?". Claude reads your Forge records to answer. It cannot change anything.

Included on the Scale plan. Each connection reads one company: the one you choose when you connect.

Claude on the web or the desktop app

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Forge and enter the address https://theforgeai.app/mcp.
  3. Choose Connect. A Forge window opens: sign in if asked.
  4. Check that it says it will send you back to claude.ai, choose the company, and choose Allow read-only access.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner of your Claude organisation may need to add the connector first.

Claude Code

In a terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http forge https://theforgeai.app/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose Forge to sign in. Forge will warn that the app runs on your own computer: allow it only if you started the connection yourself, just then.

What Claude can read

  • Contacts, including email addresses and phone numbers
  • Deals and their stages
  • Tasks, including the ones Forge took from your Zoom meetings
  • Meetings: topics, decisions, action items, the people discussed, and Forge's follow-up drafts (marked as drafts: Forge never sends them)
  • Short excerpts of meeting transcripts when you search them: at most three passages of a few lines each per meeting
  • Invoices, and the details of documents (title, status, client, dates)

Only for the company you chose, and only what you can already see in Forge yourself.

What it can't do

  • Create, change, send or delete anything in Forge
  • Read whole transcripts, your files, or what is inside uploaded documents
  • See your Zoom, Google or Microsoft connections, or any payment details
  • See any other company you belong to

Forge keeps a log of each request (who, which app, which tool, when, and whether it was allowed) for 180 days. It does not keep the question asked or the answer given. Claude keeps your conversation under your own Claude settings. See the Privacy Policy.

Good first questions

  • "Use Forge: what did I promise Northwind in our last two meetings?"
  • "Which of my Forge tasks are overdue?"
  • "Give me an overview of Acme from Forge: open deals, invoices, recent meetings."

Disconnecting

In Forge, open Settings → Connected AI apps and choose Disconnect. It stops at once. You can also remove the connector in Claude. Company owners and admins can disconnect anyone's.

A connection also switches itself off after 90 days without use, and answers at most 300 requests an hour. To connect a different company, disconnect and connect again.
